Founded by Kyla Hee & Ta'imua, WuWei88 Productions develops and produces work showcasing filmmakers, artists, and storytellers from Hawai'i.

WW88 is built on collaboration, adaptability, and trust in the creative process. We bring together artists to create work that feels authentic to where it comes from, while also reaching far beyond it.

Meet The WW88 Crew

Kyla Hee

Kyla is a Native Hawaiian/Chinese Actor, Producer, and alumna of Mid-Pacific Institute, born & raised in Hawaii. She began acting as a child and has since built a career in film & TV, with credits including numerous short films, Magnum P.l., Untamed Season 2, and her feature film debut in Crossed, based on the comic book series by Garth Ennis. As the co-founder of WuWei88 Productions, her goal is to develop and produce original films that help support Hawaii's local film community.

Ta’imua

Ta’imua (meaning "Leading" in Samoan) is an Actor & Filmmaker raised in Honolulu, HI. His training includes 3 years at London Based School IDSA, Groundlings, and various studios in Los Angeles & Hawaii. Coming off of an Oscar-nominated short film (Jane Austen's Period Drama) which he starred in, his credits include Untamed Season 2 (Netflix), Truth Be Told Season 2 (Apple TV), Doctor Odyssey (Hulu), and leads on various indie features and short films.

China WEST

Executive Producer

China is an Executive Producer & Producer with over a decade of experience in the film industry. As the former Head of Production at a full-service studio in Australia, she oversaw projects from development through delivery—handling everything from live-action and green screen to animation and post-production. Her work spans commercials, brand films, shorts, and music videos. Beyond producing, China is a key creative team member, contributing ideas and concepts to campaigns. She combines creative instinct with a steady hand for logistics—helping directors and brands bring their visions to life on time and on budget.

Chase Wayton

Creative Director

Chase is a Creative Director & Writer from Honolulu, HI. His work spans multiple genres, focusing on stories that challenge convention, find fresh perspectives on familiar ideas, and linger long after the credits roll. Beyond screenwriting, his work in story & project development has helped shape, package, and pitch many scripts and concepts. He also brings over a decade of experience crafting commercials and ad campaigns for brands including Amazon, Hulu, Microsoft, Lyft, and Kawasaki.
